The service statement records that Fedele Barbara died on 5 October 1915 from multiple injuries received after an explosion in the Dockyard.
The record also contains a later annotation concerning previous service in the Royal Malta Artillery. It records 12 years of former RMA service being allowed to reckon towards service pay. The same papers show service towards the limited engagement being reckoned from 18 May 1910, while a separate entry records him joining at Malta on 18 May 1915.

The Dockyard Explosion, 5 October 1915
Fedele Barbara was one of the Royal Malta Artillery personnel killed in the Malta Dockyard explosion of 5 October 1915. The surviving service record provides a direct military-record connection between his RMA service and the accident.
