Mdina – Churches and Chapels
Introduction to Mdina
Surrounding the cathedral within the narrow streets of the fortified city are several smaller churches and historic chapels, including the Annunciation Church, Mdina, the St Peter's Church and Monastery, Mdina, the St Agatha's Chapel, Mdina, the St Nicholas Chapel, Mdina and the St Roque's Church, Mdina. Many of these buildings originated in the medieval period and were rebuilt or redesigned in the Baroque style during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, particularly after the destructive earthquake of 1693.
